THEME:- Dry Bones Shall Rise Again-Ezk37:5-6
Text:- Ezk37:1-14
Introduction
At a time like this
when children of God are faced with visibly hopeless situations and challenges
that cut across every areas of daily their lives, God through His ever potent word has
come to bring the message of restoration and hope for all even the worst hit who
believes will doubtless be transformed. As we look into this word, may you
experience His life transforming power and be delivered in Jesus name.
Dry Bones in 3 Different Perspectives:-
¨
Evangelism Perspective- Rm10:8,13-15
Every day as we go
about our businesses, God brings us to see people who are unsaved, who have not
heard the gospel, who are on the way to eternal doom and death. He expects us
to speak to the about Jesus who came to restore the hope mankind lost at Eden . When they become
born again, they are capable of becoming a mighty army for the Lord.
Peter-Acts 2:37-38, the
woman of Sychar- Jn 4:5-29, Paul and Silas and their jailers-Acts 16:25-32.
¨
Salvation Perspective-Isa 14:1-3
Mankind without Christ
is like a burial ground. Consider the population of the world in this category;
Satan keeps dumping men in the grave of sin and untimely death. However, when
Jesus died, our graves were opened-Mt
27:50-54. It was then we became the captor of the one whose captive we once
were; it was at cavalry we became a mighty army; it was there we were
reconnected to our source-Rm 5:8-11; It was there our graves were opened, He
covered us with flesh and breathed upon us.
¨
From Worst to Best Perspective-Jn 11:38 -39
There is nothing as
hopeless as a dead man- but the word of the Lord even searched beyond death
reaching to the decayed, dismembered and dry bones-Ezk 37:1-2. Jesus wept at the sorry state of dry bones but rejoice
for He has come and something you will never forget is about to happen!
God says even at your
worst state, if only you allow Him, He will restore you for with Him all things
are possible.
That dead womb will yet
carry a child- IIKgs 4:14, that hopeless sinner will still serve the Lord-Jn
4:28-29, Lk 19:1-2,9, for the dry bone shall rise again in Jesus name.
¨
Ever Ready Ezk 1:1, Dan9:3, ISam 16:6-7
Ezekiel gave himself totally to the will of God. He operated in another realm
entirely, He waited on the Lord and was ready to let God take him step by step,
precept by precept. He obeyed God and only waited afterwards for I AM to do
what He says He will do.
¨
The Day of Visitation-
Watch your confession
for your confession can shape your procession -Rm 10:8-10, Pr 23:7, Job 22:28 -29
The people indeed say “our
bone is dry, our hope is lost, we are even cut off”-they believed the devil’s
lie that God has forgotten them-(Gideon-Judges 6:13 , Zion -Isa
49:13-16 )
However in the day of
visitation, the day of divine intervention, there will be the war of words i.e.
the word of God Vs whoever’s (Doctor’s, demon’s, man’s, yours. But thus sayeth
the Lord on that day DRY bone, even your dry bone shall live, shall rise again
–Isa 53:1, Isa 55:14, Isa 40:8
¨
Valley
of Dry
Bones
These are hopeless
people in a hopeless land- I will bring you back into your own land(your
procession, recover your losses)
People (Youths) whose lives
(dreams, aspirations, glories, confidence…) were terminated untimely
Their destinies were
not fulfilled.
They died in pains, groaning
and humiliation.
They fell into the
hands of their enemies.
They departed
uncelebrated, buried without honour.
¨
Bones
Man’s source of
strength- Ps 22:14-15
A beings most important
but hidden part- foundation
Man’s nakedness
¨
Causes of Dry bones
Sin- Ps 32:3, Lam 4:8-11, Ezk 6:5-6, Ps 31:10
Satanic attacks- defeat-Pr 17:22
Personal
Mistakes-Ps119:67
¨
Effects of Dry Bones- Job 19:13-20
Desertion
Desolation
Shame and Scorn
¨
Conclusion:-Ezk 34:16
God
is still in the business of giving hope to the hopeless, bread to the hungry,
strength to the weary, health to the sick life to the lifeless; He still brings
sinners to Himself. The only thing you need to do is Give Him a chance to work
upon your dry bone. Prophesy as you are commanded then, wait and see your dry
bones live for faithful is He who has spoken He will perform it.
