Jealous God

Text:-Deut.  6:15 For the LORD thy God is a jealous God among you lest the anger of the LORD thy God be kindled against thee, and destroy thee from off the face of the earth.

Introduction:
God has introduced Himself as a jealous God. Today we would like to see some of those things our heavenly father is jealous for. On them He would not look away without acting. We MUST avoid these pitfalls so as not to be on a collision course with the Almighty and“Jealous God”
Remain blessed as we move on in Jesus name.

His people
God can give anything to protect Israel- either one by birth or by faith- Zech 2:8 For thus saith the LORD of hosts; After the glory hath he sent me unto the nations which spoiled you:
for he that toucheth you toucheth the apple of his eye.

His church
There is nothing anyone can do to stop the church of God. Christ's concern was never about the church but about faith. The church of God is marching on....Mt 16:18b ….upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.

His work
(God is jealous for His work. That is why the best way to partner with Him is to work for Him. Remember He says the harvest is ripe.....labourers are always in short supply. He seeks faithful workers everyday. God will do everything to defend his work so that it does not get spoilt.   Matt9:37-38 Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly [is] plenteous, but the labourers [are] few; {9:38} Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest.

His word
His word is yea and amen. he watches over his Word to bring it to pass. He doesn't want His word to be adulterated or modified--- Rev 22:18 For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book
God is not a motivational speaker but His word is always the truth. Though bitter, it will surely find expression- Isaiah 55:11 So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.
He does not need the help of man for His word to be fulfilled

His nation
Remember the word of God that blessed is the nation whose God the Lord is. God will personally fight any nation that rises against a nation that is wholly devoted and committed to Him - Ps 33:12 Blessed is the nation whose God [is] the LORD: and the people whom he hath chosen for his own inheritance.

His servants
(God does not play with His servants. Never take a servant of God for granted. Miriam attempted to challenge Moses her brother and God did not take it kindly with her. Shall we talk about the treatment of Korah and co—Num 12:7-10 My servant Moses is not so, who is faithful in all mine house. With him will I speak mouth to mouth, even apparently, and not in dark speeches; and the similitude of the LORD shall he behold: wherefore then were ye not afraid to speak against my
servant Moses? And the anger of the LORD was kindled against them; and he departed. And the cloud departed from off the tabernacle; and, behold, Miriam became leprous, [white] as snow: and Aaron looked upon Miriam, and, behold, she was leprous.

His Gold- I pity those who steal from offerings and tithes in church. Most often the eventually die of in curable diseases. What simple prescriptions will treat in others kill them! Remember Judas Iscariot and how he ended!= John 12:6 Not that he cared for the poor--he was a thief, and since he was in charge of the disciples' money, he often stole some for himself.

Little children
if you want to see the anger of God, dare His children. It is better for a millstone to be hung round the drowning offender than to await God's anger. Apart from this He views a newly converted and growing person as a child and expects the mature ones to nurture- Matt 18:6 But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and [that] he were drowned in the depth of the sea.

 His glory
The quickest way for anyone to die is to share His glory. He did not wait for Herod to repent. Those that are being used by God MUST ensure that they guard against the temptation of feeling like supermen after exploits- Acts 12:21-23 On an appointed day, Herod dressed himself in royal clothing, sat on the throne, and made a speech to them. The people shouted, “The voice of God, and not of a man!” Immediately an angel of the Lord struck him, because he didn't give God the glory. He was eaten by worms and died."

His girls
God has specific assignments for His daughters. Like Cornelius daughters, they are to use their purity and chastity to serve in the prophetic ministry. Anyone who sneaks into church to lead any of His girls away have opened the door to trouble and punishment.

His altar
God is concerned for His altar. The altar's potency is in its ability to alter things hence it must be kept pure, and on fire consistently, his house-Christ demonstrated this jealousy by cleaning the temple and ridding it of merchants- Lk 19: 45-46 And he went into the temple, and began to cast out them that sold therein, and them that bought; {19:46} Saying unto them, It is written, My house is the house of prayer: but ye have made it a den of thieves.

His vessels
It was the vessel from God's house that Belshazzar was drinking with when God visited him. Anyone who steals vessels from God's house commits a grave abomination- Daniel 5:1-6 Belshazzar the king made a great feast to a thousand of his lords, and drank wine before the thousand. Belshazzar, whiles he tasted the wine, commanded to bring the golden and silver vessels which his father Nebuchadnezzar had taken out of the temple which was in Jerusalem; that the king, and his princes, his wives, and his concubines, might drink therein. {5:3} Then they brought the golden vessels that were taken out of the temple of the house of God which [was] at Jerusalem; and the king, and his princes, his wives, and his concubines, drank in them. {5:4} They drank wine, and praised the gods of gold, and of silver, of brass, of iron, of wood, and of stone. {5:5} In the same hour came forth fingers of a man’s hand, and wrote over against the candlestick upon the plaster of the wall of the king’s palace: and the king saw the part of the hand that wrote. {5:6} Then the king’s countenance was changed, and his thoughts troubled him, so that the joints of his loins were loosed, and his knees smote one against another.
Again the bible says  …”touch no unclean thing; go ye out of the midst of her; be ye clean, that bear the vessels of the LORD” Isaiah 52:11b

His worship, praises
The only food He eats is praises and worship rendered by a pure heart. We should avoid using the lips of praises for other things like vulgar, dirty and base conversations, cursing.....Exo 20:4-5a Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of anything] that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that [is] in the water under the earth: Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God….

Conclusion:
Our God is a jealous God. He always wants to take full ownership and control of whatever yields to Him. He hates to cohabit with competitors. He is a loyal lover whose commitment in a relationship is not in doubt.

He looks for but it appears He doesn't have a permanent address on earth yet He stays with whoever stays with Him.
He desires an eternal relationship.

Prayer: Father help me never to be on a collision course with you
Help me to love you completely in Jesus name
